7.) I Could Never Be Your Woman
8.) How I Live Now
9.) The Way Back

I think I'll just do five which will make it harder.

1. Brooklyn
2. Atonement
3. The Grand Budapest Hotel
4. Lady Bird
5. The Lovely Bones

Updated to include Lady Bird

I agree with the honorable mention to Byzantium though!

Brooklyn
Byzantium
How I Live Now
Hanna
I Could Never Be Your Woman

Honourable mentions:
The Grand Budapest Hotel - she's brilliant in it but it's not the biggest role or the most demanding performance. I have to say that watching it on the big screen (especially 'that' scene on the carousel) was utterly fantastic, though.
Stockholm Pennsylvania - I know a lot of people don't rate this movie at all but Saoirse's performance in it reminds me of her work in Brooklyn in that she can convey so much emotion without actually saying a single word.
“You need to do what’s right for you and what your instinct is telling you to do, because only then, I think, you can be the best version of yourself.” - Saoirse

01. Byzantium
02. Brooklyn
03. Hanna
04. The Lovely Bones
05. Atonement
06. The Way Back
07. How I Live Now
08. The Grand Budapest Hotel

I haven't seen Stockholm, Pennsylvania yet. It sounds like a movie that's gonna make me miserable...

It's certainly an interesting movie. I don't think it made me miserable, but it certainly got under my skin and I found myself thinking about it for quite a long time afterwards.

I suppose really it's a horror movie, but not the supernatural kind, more the sort of horror where it could actually happen in real life. Which is the scariest type of all, really.

Saoirse-connections - Jason Isaacs is in it too, and he was recently in The OA alongside Emory Cohen!

I love Jason! I was so happy when I read they were gonna be in a movie together. Shame it ended up on Lifetime, it can't be found in many places outside the United States. I can't even buy/rent it online from Brazil.

I watched it on Youtube a long time ago. Too bad it didn't get distribution.

1. Brooklyn. Promise fullfilled
2. Death Defying Acts. Her most virtuoso acting
3. Atonement. The classic.
4. Hanna. Almost perfect
5. The Way Back. I see this more as her first mature performance, despite her being 15. Tedious film, though.
6. Byzantium. Excellent performance. But despite a gangbusters start, points off for ultimately being a dull movie.
7. How I Live Now. Excellent, but should have been better.
8. I Could Never Be Your Woman. The promise
9. The Lovely Bones
10. Violet & Daisy. So shoot me, I liked this
11. The Grand Budapest Hotel. Lost in the cast
12. The Host Not bad but a hopeless film
13. Lost River. Meh
14. City of Ember. Double Meh
15. Weepah Way for Now. Well, it's her voice
15. Stockholm, Pennsylvania. Gag me. Her only boring performance.

Brooklyn
Atonement
Byzantium
Hanna
How I Live Now
The Way Back
Death Defying Acts
I Could Never be your Woman
The Grand Budapest Hotel
City of Ember
The Host
Violet & Daisy
Lost River
Stockholm, Pennsylvania

Haven't seen the ones where she does voice over and The Christmas Miracle.

This was so hard to make, many of them I consider equals and if you ask me next week maybe the list wouldn't be the exact same.

Yes I know I've been avoiding The Lovely Bones for years now, procrastination at maximum

Brooklyn
Hanna
Atonement
The Lovely Bones/Byzantium
How I Live Now/The Way Back
I Could never be your woman
Violet and Daisy
Death Defying Acts
Stockholm Pennsylvania
The Host
The Grand Budapest Hotel(its only ranked this low because of her short screentime)
Lost River
City of Ember
The christmas miracle of Jonathan Toomey(her worst performance for me, but the entire movie is a mess, really bad direction)

I really liked City Of Ember!  Obviously it's a somewhat predictable "family" movie but it's a great leading performance by Saoirse (who must have been, what, thirteen at the time?), especially when she is holding her own in the scenes with Bill Murray. Incredible set design too.

I'll stick with my top five:

Brooklyn - a near perfect movie.
Hanna - such a force of nature, but genetically emotionless?  Hah!
Byzantium - a different take on the vampire myth.  I liked the quiet parts.
How I Live Now - it has a weird tonal shift but she handles it well.
Grand Budapest Hotel - despite the large cast she became the emotional center.

Agree, she anchors the whole movie since it's really about Zero's love for her. Aside from Fiennes/Zero she was probably the most important part to cast for that reason. Wes Anderson chose well  :)
