Actress Saoirse Ronan is eager to overcome her severe stagefright to make her theatre debut.
The Oscar nominee admits she has long harboured dreams of treading the boards, like her actor father, The Devil’s Own star Paul Ronan, but she will have to confront her fears of performing in front of a live audience first. She tells The New York Times Style Magazine, “I think it (performing in a theatre) is in the blood. And even though I’m terrified about doing it, if something goes all right on stage, it must be the most amazing feeling.”
However, Ralph Fiennes, the actress’ co-star in upcoming film Grand Budapest Hotel, is convinced the 19 year old would be a “natural” and “fantastic” on stage. He adds, “She just seems to have been gifted with something, where she seems to have none of the anxiety the rest of us have. She’s very special.”
