  1. There is a god. I was very disturbed not only by Ricky Gervais, the indulgent and alcohol laced golden globes, but the winners, . Saoirse looked like an angel, not because she is pretty , (which she is) but because she represented a person and a film that for me I feel very protective of. A movie which dares in this world driven half mad by jealousies, hatreds, bombastic US politicians, a million reasons to be fearful, here was a movie that showed the kindness of people towards this young woman , portrayed with an unheard of depth by her character , and charm. I will never watch nor pay any heed to the globes again. Clearly there are politics in the movie world(Duh) I am a classical violinist who has played on 90 motion pictures, won many awards and the politics of my field are overwhelming, somehow, I have always thought this didn’t apply to movies and theatre (which I love) hah, its fun to be naive, but now I know. I don’t know if Brooklyn will win, or Saoirse , but it would mean something tremendous to me aside from everyone’s work on this film, not the least which was the exacting superb work of John Crowley.
